Nestled between kindergarten graduation and karate we had some other things goin' on this weekend :-) Neena and Papaw came down on Thursday so they could eat lunch with Pierce at his school, and of course see his graduation program, but they made a weekend of it!! So, it's time to show you all our fun ;)
First up was a promised outside lunch with Pierce, even if it was 875 degrees. We sucked it up and enjoyed it ;)
Actually my dad and the kids are nestled against the school building, that was the only shade! Even the young whipper snappers were complaining. Pierce had his last day of school on Friday, so it was time for the girls to do what they do best. Shop of course!! Hope's a shopping champ in training, she keeps right up with us, even when it's not ALL for her.
So, we were left to decide what to do on Saturday when it was going to be hotter than Hades outdoors. What are there lots of in Kentucky, that are cool? (literally, not figuratively) Cave's of course ;) Oh, and it just happened to be, I love BG day (who knew there was even such a thing) so the tour was half off.
None of us had been to this one, so the boys sat down and researched the map :)
No weekend is complete without a few meltdowns. Or a mom that takes pictures of said meltdowns. ;)
Once happiness was restored, back to having fun!!
Kids started getting bored.....
While we listened to this fella tell all about the history of this cave. For example, supposedly Jesse James hid out in this cave after robbing a bank in Russellville, KY. Pretty cool, hugh?!?
Another fun fact about this cave? BOAT TOUR. Kids all excited at first.
Still excited....
But as it got DARK, and we had to do such things as kept bent over so we would not hit our heads, excitement kind of wained a little ;)
Pierce and I still having fun!!
But Hope was scared and kind of sat on her daddy like a statue, and even Pierce told me later, "I was scared a few times" :)
Once we were done with the cave it was time for us to do what we did probably best all weekend long.
EAT!!!
I love caves. We might have to check this one out. Who doesn't love to show off for grandparents? Isn't that their job? :)
