So, our holiday was rather boring.

Our Fourth was a REALLY laid back day. We had absolutely NO plans, and no one to do anything with, so most of the day was spent doing lazy day stuff.

There was a lot of screen time...

And snacks with daddy.

Lots of t.v. time...

And gourmet food, prepared by their chef of a mother.

After we had lazed around, played and picked for a few hours, we decided we just had to get out of the house. Pierce had the idea to go bowling, so off we went!

We offered several times to help Hope, but she was determined to do it on her own!

The ball would go down the lane at approximately .1 mile per hour. Enough time to do a phone update, go to the bathroom, eat some nachos and cheese, and give yourself a pedicure. But by golly, it would eventually make it.

And Pierce showed great improvement since the last time he played! Bowling is something we only do about once or twice a year.

And then there's me, you know, the athletic god of the family. (I sure hope everyone understands just how sarcastic I am) I may not be gifted in certain areas, but I am always up for a good time, so I just went in having my usual fun.

Of course this one, takes great joy in destroying the weak wife, but I'm here to tell you a sports miracle happened. I WON. And I didn't gloat about that MIRACLE OF A WIN either.

So, after our Olympic caliber bowling, we were already thinking about food again. I had been craving Mexican all day, and Hope and daddy were wanting Chinese. Paul decided he wanted to cook and Hope was ALL about helping.

So, Pierce and I did something I don't think we've ever done. We left and went to Chuy's, just the two of us.

Hope was happy for the one-on-one time with daddy, and Pierce was happy with our impromptu date. We had a blast! Anytime, you can get that special time with just one child, it's just precious.

So, overall a really quiet laid back day, but I cannot talk about the day and not mention THIS RIGHT HERE. This game called, SongPop. It's as though all my years of useless musical knowledge is finally paying off, and I'm sucked in.

I stink at Draw Something, no good at Words With Friends, but this I'm pretty good at. See, who says all those years in the 80's watching MTV were for nothing?
So, maybe our holiday was rather boring. But we still had a good time together.

  2. Only you could rock a dress and bowling shoes. So jealous of that one on one date, I miss that time. I'm glad I'm not on that screen shot. Goodness I'm terrible!

  3. I thinks it's a good think to have some down time, even if it's on a holiday. One on one dates with your kids can't be beat!

  4. I find it comforting that you are stomping most your opponents. Now I don't feel so bad...
