If you wear Birkenstock, I'm sure you are lovely.

Last night Pierce had another baseball game, and I decided that Hope and I would sit this one out and stay home.

With the next day being picture day, some extra pampering was in order, but I also had another motivation to stay home.

But first, it was some girl time.

I decided some pedicures were in order, for the both of us.

And Hope made the most of the situation and LAID DOWN DURING HER PEDICURE. Why don't you relax dear?

So, my other motivation for staying home?

Well, I worked yesterday, and here's something I never expected from working.

MY BACK IS KILLNG ME.

Like, I shuffle around like Tim Conway, I'm popping Advil like candy, and feel like an 87 year old woman.

Something I noticed when I first started working there, is that most of the teachers wear some type of Birkenstock type of shoe. NOW, I am sure each of these woman, and ALL women who like a Birkenstock type of shoe, are SO LOVELY.  But I don't enjoy their Birkenstock'ish shoes.

But do they wear them because they prevent back pain?

YOU GUYS. I think I might have to buy something like that.

Or do I just wear the flip-flops and stay in pain? Look, I'm as vain as they come, but this is seriously driving me to consider function over fashion.

Please, if anyone knows any type of good shoe that is also half way cute, please share with me. Or maybe I should just bedazzle some Birkenstock?

YOU GUYS.

Okay, so we ended up with cute toes...

And I enjoyed some sweet one-on-one time with my girl.

We topped off our night with popcorn and a movie.

And please check out my babies all dressed up for picture day this morning. I DIE.

Any shoes tips, my back and ego would surely appreciate...

  1. I have to wear something with a little support. If I wear flip flops, I never do it two days in a row. I've never had a pair of Birkenstocks on my feet and I never will but you might want to try something with some support. Even wear your tennis shoes a day or two.

  2. You are so funny! I could never wear Birkenstocks either, but when I was teaching Nine West has a Cloud 9 line of comfy shoes that even had a small heel to them that I LOVED. {I wore flip-flops a lot in the summer/spring though.} ;) Like Alicia said tennis shoes are always great, too!

  3. I have serious back and leg problems. Find something with support. I have worn Skechers flip flops all summer for everyday. I wish I had bought 4 pairs. :) Look at the A2 by Aerosoles too and see if you can find any cute ones you like. They are so comfortable and the Nine west. They are the only shoes I can wear for any length of time in the winter and not have problems.

  5. Dansko's are awesome. My friend is a nurse & they wear them bc they're on their feet all day. I bought ONE pair (bc they are freakin' expensive) & I LOVE them!
(right now I'm wearing my sparkly flip flops while sitting at my desk... :)

  6. I know what you mean about flip flops. I wear mine all the time. But with you being on your feet all day you do need something with support. My daughter is a teacher and where flats like Sperry's which is costly sometimes. I think any flats that isn't flip-flop's would do.
