Goodbye Edward

I personally fought the whole Twilight thing for years. For a number of reasons, but mainly, because I thought the whole concept sounded stupid. But what can I say? After years of pressure, I finally caved and read all the books.

It wasn't immediate love, but eventually I really got into them, and fell for Edward, and cried for Jacob.

Uh-huh.

Hook-line-and-sinker, I was in it like a prepubescent girl.

By the time I came to the party, Twilight and New Moon had already come out.

So, like any self respecting woman in her thirties with two children, I had to rent them with my friends and squeal.

Movie #1, incredibly ghetto.

Movie #2, somewhat better. Even though of course, Kristen Stewart always acts flat-lined, and I inevitably yell at her throughout the movie, wishing someone might punch her in the stomach or something.

Even though the acting might be bad, once you've fallen in, you just can't stop.

And last November we all couldn't wait for November 2012 to finish off our love story.

And finally the night came.

We gathered together

Excitedly gathered.

Because deep down inside of us, we all have an inner 13 year old girl. OH MY GAW!

And while we killed time, my pretty friend here, JaimeMac as I call her, gave me a lesson.

A, 'how to tie your scarf for the scarf-challenged' lesson.

I learned a few things, and she loved the attention! Right JaimeMac?

And then the movie started....

It was good, with a really good twist.

But now that it's over, now what? Who should we crush on now?

But until we decide....

Goodbye Edward.

  3. I read them all and have watched all the movies, but not on the theater. I wait until they come out on DVD. As hard as it is to admit it, I was sucked in by the books, too!

  4. Oh, Edward, Edward, Edward...this was a bittersweet night. Sigh.
What a fun night & yes, there are 2 things I love : 1) attention. 2) telling people what to do. Thank you for allowing me to do both. :)

  5. I'll always be Team Edward!! My thoughts will never waiver even if it does sound like I'm a 13 year old girl! There is something about a sexy vampire that makes it almost desirable to be bitten ;)
