One of our favorite things to do this time of year, is drive around and look at Christmas lights. It's a simple tradition that I remember loving as a kid, and now my kids love it!
And our friend James, always does his house up big, so a trip to see his house was in order.
He said it takes him four full days, and that's with the help of his employees too.
And well, as you can imagine, the kids think it's the bee's knees!
And not only do we drive by to see all the lights, we also get out and walk around.
You know, so we can really admire the joint!
And I do remember Paul warning, ME, to be careful out there, since I'm accident prone and all, but I think he should have warned the children.
As we were about to leave, I see Hope walking towards me, and I could tell she was upset, but I just assumed her brother upset her or something.
WRONG.
She starts REALLY crying, saying she ran into a tree or something. But it was dark, and we couldn't see anything, so we loaded up and headed home, thinking she just brushed a tree branch.
Then we got into the light...
I was like, OH MY GOSH, someone slashed my baybee's face!!!
AND HER NECK! Child looks like an abuse victim.
And that's what can happen when you run around in the dark looking at Christmas lights
You can suddenly come face-to-face with a tree/bush/branch thingy, and get whopped.
At least it makes for a funny Christmas memory!
Speaking of, we are down to the wire, and I'm headed up to the holy lands soon!
I can't believe it's almost that time again! Weeeeeee!
Hahahahhaha! I love to read your posts. I have never heard the expression "bees knees"! I always say the "cat's meow."
ReplyDeletePoor Hope, I raised a accident prone daughter! I'm glad you will be back to the Holy Land soon!
Merry Christmas!
Um.... OH MY GOSH!! That is bad. :(
ReplyDeleteI feel even worse saying this after seeing Tracey's nice comment, but I laughed out loud when I saw Hope's face. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteOh Poor Hope!! That looks like it hurts!!
ReplyDelete"Bees knees"?! How old ARE you? Sheesh woman!
ReplyDeletePOOR hope! that slashing on her face looks really painful!
(But hilarious post title!)
Poor baby!! Glad she's smiling!
ReplyDeletePoor Hope, it's a good thing she didn't have school today or else you may be getting a visit from CPS.
ReplyDeleteBless her heart, that had to hurt. At least she handled it like a champ and could still smile about it!
