February blahs

Be content in all circumstances....

This verse is truth.

And this verse even remains true when it's February and you are just feeling kind of blah.

So yes Lord, content.

But that doesn't mean I can't reminisce, right?

Thinking about the beach tonight

And how I wish we were there.

Water lapping at our feet

Or maybe just crashing in our faces.

NO schedules

And grown women who get too much sun on their faces only to age themselves 15 years.

So yeah, I'm wishing I was HERE

But ima reamin content.

Florida wrap up.

We are now home. Surrounded by piles of laundry, an empty refrigerator, and no ocean in sight.

As much as we miss it, there really is nothing like peeing in your own toilet, and sleeping in your own bed. It's good to be home.

Our last night in Florida, we decided to hit up our favorite spot to eat, the Crab Trap.

And I may have gone camera crazy that last night.

I'm hoping as much grief I get for my excessive photo taking, that one day these pictures will be appreciated.

I want to thank my parents for the vacation.

Lord knows it took them to get us there.

And because of their sacrifice to get us there, we had our first beach family vacation in 16 years.

The last time we all went to the beach together, Cody was just a baby, and Nathan and Hope, weren't even around yet.

Nor were these two.

So, that last night I was determined to do two things.

Get us all to the beach for some pictures.

And plant myself there to watch the sunset.

My very favorite time to be at the beach is at night.

The beauty is undeniable.

So, I just sat there and took it all in and got all reflective. I do that at times.

Thankful for my family, and what a blessing they are.

Thankful for God's creation.

And thankful for a great week.

Until we meet again....

It's our last day here.

Sadly, today is our last day here.

I'm going to miss the ocean.

Especially watching my family out there, getting whipped around.

And I will miss hanging with Hope on the beach, watching her make sand castles, and just play her heart out.

I'm going to miss us being silly together.

And I will certainly miss all the good food and treats we've eaten.

Mostly, I will miss the quality time I've had with my family.

Just us. No work. Nothing taking us here and there.

And by gosh, I will miss our squinty eyed photos. We may not win the typical beautiful beach photo award, but this is SO us.

You gotta know when to hold em, fold em, walk away, run, and get out your cell.

Last night, a fierce poker battle began.

With Paul, being the bossy pants of the group.

Teen boys, might not look so interested, but they were game. For like all of .5 seconds.
There were important girls to text.

While Paul pulled a serious poker move, and tried to hide all emotion behind the shades. He's ridonk.

Annnnnnnnd back to the phones.

 Brief moments without said phones.
But alas, the phone won. God bless teenagers!
