Be afraid.

Because a certain little boy is taking karate, and he might bust you up ;-)

I mean, doesn't this little face look scary??

Showing his kicking skills....Yes sir....

He's tough stuff ;-)Oh, and miss thang, cannot be left out of any photo shoot....
People, she cannot be stopped....

And together, they just crack.me.up.
Hope makes her brother die laughing....Actually she makes us all die laughing...

Just look at this nut!!!
And just to prove that I exist.

Katie

*Katie has brown and sometimes pink hair

*Katie is 5 years old

*Katie spends a lot of time in either trouble, sick, or at home alone.

*Katie will be coming over for Christmas this year

Katie even has a card on the tree for her Christmas arrival.
Katie is imaginary, but I thought she deserved her own post.

Snow Days.

Who would think living just 2 hours south, would make such a difference in how snow is handled?? I know that Indiana is a little hyper-sensitive to snow, but holy cow, they can't handle it at all here in Keeen-tucky. So far this week, school has been called off for 3 days. Oh, and let me tell you, Paul is from Michigan. Michigan=snow. Boy do I ever hear all.the.time about how wimpy these people (Hoosiers included) are ;-)

I've enjoyed having them both home, but Christmas vacation starts next week, so I need to start with my creative mommy stuff, and I think we've established I'm not the most creative momma. Here's just some of what we've managed so far....

Of course we've played in the snow.
Oh what fun we have....

The laughter and giggles.....Until someone gets snow in the face. ;-)

There's been fit throwing.Oh and even Christmas gift opening!!! Courtesy of Memaw and Pawpaw. This made for fun hours of playtime!!!
So excited!!! I mean, it's princess stuff, who wouldn't be excited?!?!?
Pierce has had a ton of fun with his magnet set!!
Just a glimpse of what's to come in a mere 9 days.

This is when they opened their book....
One of those where you record reading it. We listen to this MANY times a day. Then we've gussied up for baking time!!! They are demonstrating how they both can snap now. Funny, what excites little people. I wish I still got excited to snap.
Let me share something about me. I am a little OCD. It's hard to be OCD about things when you have kids. So, I swallowed my OCD'ness and let them decorate them all themselves. Sprinkles were all over the table, and the floor. Icing on the jars, themselves and me. I was hyper-ventilating a little, but I made it through. I'm trying to let the kids be kids, and not get in the way of that. ;)
And we've done crafts!!! There's been more than just this, but this is all I got pictures of.

Cute hugh?!?
I'm thinking of hitting the craft store and stocking up with a bunch more stuff. And letting the kids go crazy, you know with glitter and little tiny beads!!! I may not survive and have a major stoke from anxiety, but I'll go down trying!!!

Cody Bear is 16.

Sniff.....Sniff......time keeps marching on!! My sister's oldest is about to turn 16, and we celebrated his birthday last weekend. I mean, really 16?? Who remembers being 16? I sure remember starting to drive and the freedom, and how great that felt. I'm not quite sure how Cody feels about turning 16, well, because he doesn't talk much ;-) He's a good kid, and I miss my little Cody Bear, and I know Jo sure must her little baby. Time marches on....

And let me tell you, the girls love this kid. He's a stud at Borden.
I had to include this one. So, when we sing the "happy birthday" song, well we BUTCHER it. I mean, we are awful!! My mom asked if we would all try this time to do a good job, and even harmonize. HA!!! Well, we upped the anty on the awful meter and it was quite hilarious. As you can see, we die laughing ;-)
Jo, and her boys. Love you Cody Bear!!! Your crazy aunt Gretchen!!!

Eight Years.

Eight years ago today, I was busy getting ready to get hitched. We had a beautiful Christmas wedding, and it was such a good time for us, but instead of getting all mushy today, I'll let you in on something about me and Rico......we are total opposites. We are a perfect example of opposites attract. On paper, we would never work, but for us it works......

*Paul is country, I'm city.

*Paul likes to camp, I like to camp at the Holiday Inn.

*Paul wants to vacation in Alaska, I want to hit Hawaii.

*Paul is a movie freak, I prefer to read or go out to eat.

*Paul is a meat and potatoes kind of guy, I like salads and casseroles.

*Paul is direct and not afraid of confrontation, I keep it to myself.

*Paul is not shy at all, I have my shy moments.

*Paul is a hunter, well, I think you all know how far from that I am.

*Paul always trusts people, I don't.

*And lastly, he's an eternal optimist, and I'm a pessimist!!!

So, you see, our marriage is full of seeing things much differently. Yet, we make it work. I really admire his strength and above all I admire his knowledge of the Lord, and how he actually walks it. Knowing the Bible and actually living out what you know is two different things, and I've watched him do it over and over again. Truth is, so many people would fold like a cheap suit if they've gone though a third of what he has, and well he just keeps getting stronger!! So, while we might drive each other crazy with our differences, I can't help but love that man!!!

Rico decided we would celebrate our anniversary where we had our first date ;-)
Here's the lovely couple....
There's my Rico!!! SUAVE. ;-)
Oh, and he did good!!! He bought me a new watch. I will post pics later.

Dead Sexy

Prepare yourselves for the very definition of sexy. Prepare to be blown away, and jealous. Are you ready to see a dead sexy couple??

Here it is...the very essence of sexy.....
Friday night, was an ugly sweater party at the Murphy's. Paul channeled cousin Eddie (notice the dickie showing and his awesome white shoes) and well, my sweater won the whole thing!!! Dead sexy.

Questions.

Pierce was in a very inquisitive mood tonight. However, these weren't your average questions, these questions made me actually squirm (and laugh)

1) Mom, what's God's e-mail address, or how about his address, I would like to send him something.

2) Mom, who made God? (try explaining that one to a 6 year old)

3) Did God make Jesus?

4) Did God make Santa?

Shew, kids keep us on our toes!!!!

Also, a couple cute pics my dad e-mailed me from Polar Express, just had to share ;-)
