This time next year.....

When you become a mom, the words "play date" become a regular part of your vocabulary.  Diapers, colic, sleep, solids, discipline, nap time, and PLAY DATE, just become the norm.

And I was taking Hope on yet another play date today, it dawned on me all of a sudden....
This time next year, she will be in school day long....
All these years of play dates during the day, are slowly coming to an end....
Then I became weepy, and thought I might need a barf bag.....
Because as hard as I try to hold onto these exhaustive, yet precious days....
 They slip away.....
And then they are just a memory.....
This time next year, can come slowly if it pleases......because I'm not ready.

Funnies

Here's a little fact about me. I loooooove to laugh at stuff. I'm sure I'm no different than the rest of the world, I mean really other than the Grinch who doesn't love to laugh? So, one of my favorite things to do on Pinterest, is to find funny stuff, and just laugh. Honestly, I think laughter at stupid things, helps me cope with life. And maybe you like to do the same thing? Find silly stuff and just get your kicks, so I decided to share some of my favorites....

Um, this is really true for me...

I love the sarcasm of this. :-)
 HA!!!! Sooooo true...
 Word.
 Holla.
 There's not I doubt.
 Awesome.
 All.the.time.
 Perfect.
I will be this lady one day.
And this one just made me think of Tracey! HA HA!!!
Hopefully some of these made you smile today...:-)

A good way to spend my weekend

What did you all do this weekend?

Me?

Oh, I posed for pictures on a pink tractor.

With some wonderful ladies. Oh, and I laughed tons, ate lots of food, and deprived myself of sleep.

So, let me back up a bit.

It had come time for the girls of our small group to do something fun. I believe that the ladies and guys switch off, on excursions about every 3 months or so. And Brittany being the planner and gracious soul she is, invited the small group gals, and Starbucks Sisters,  to come stay at her in-laws lake house.

And when I told people around these parts where I was going, they all had one thing to say. "Are you eating at Patti's?"

And why, yes I did.....
We got together on Friday night,  (more on that part in a minute) but first I wanted to share about Patti's. I heard sooooo much about this place, so I was quite anxious to finally try it out. While waiting for our table, we walked around the gift shop, you know to see what we just HAD to buy, and down south, they sure have a thing about their tea.
But what REALLY caught my eye? Pies with meringue on them, as tall as my hair in the eighties.
The meringue was a good 7 to 8 inches high. In-credible I tell you.
When we sat down to eat, Brittany said we would experience it all. This meant the works. Fried pickles, dessert, and mozzarella sticks the sizes of corn dogs.
And THEN they serve the bread to you, in these cute flower pots, with a side of strawberry butter. YUM.
And we got all sneaky on Dwan. She has a birthday next week, so they came out and put a hat on her head and sang to her.
And let me tell you about Dwan. She's just an angel. So, I've decided I'm going to sneak her in my purse one day, and she's going to come live with me, and I don't care if she doesn't like it.
All of these ladies are so sweet!! And it was so fun to sit and talk and have a 24 hour period, to get to know them.

Kara, Jessica and Brooke.
 Kelli and Michelle.
 Me, LeAnn, Dwan and Brittany.
And I have to point out that we are missing Karen and Catherine, who left that morning to head back for their children's games :(
And you know, as if I hadn't had enough, fried pickles, fried cheese, dough, and butter, I just HAD to have a piece of pie.
And before it was time to leave, the girls thought it would be, oh so funny, to get a picture of the Yankee with the southern, old time dressed waitress. Of course, I was game.
So, what else did we do?

Considering we have 3 bloggers, we must pose for many a pic...
And act like the lovely ladies we are.

We ate.

Pagliai's pizza (another first for me) some of the best pizza I have ever had.
 There were manicures given.
And of course if  Brittany is within 600 feet of another female, you had better believe she will get out her iron and curl something.
We played games.

We broke out the 90's Trivia,  and I knew quite a bit. Maybe that's because I was hitting my prime in the 90's, while most of the other girls were still wearing smocked dresses. Have I ever mentioned, I'm ALWAYS the older lady? Well, Karen, LeAnn and me anyways (girls I'm throwing you under the old lady bus with me!)
But this old lady? She helped lead her team to victory.
We also had a very Bachelor esque' ceremony to determine who would sleep with who.
And here's the bedroom chosen for me, which honestly did not get much use. In fact, we didn't go to sleep until 3 am, and then back up at 7 am. I don't remember the last time I stayed up that late! But it was totally worth it.
 Right Brooke?
So, this was a good way to spend my weekend. Getting to know some wonderful ladies who just a little over a year ago, I did not know. God is so good.

P.S. tonight is the Super Bowl, Patriots vs Giants......I'm going to support my man and say it, GO PATS! (Jami and Tracey? If you leave me any hateful Patriot comments, I will just go ahead and add you guys to the prayer requests at church. )

While daddy's away, the kids will play, and I won't sleep.

Can anyone believe this weather?? Today was so warm, I turned off the heat in the house, drove around with the windows down, and contemplated flip flops. And once Pierce got home from school, we just HAD to get outside and play.

Jump Rope for Heart is coming up...
So, he must begin his practicing.
Yes, the top of her head is cut off, but how cute is she?

I was having problems today, cutting off heads...
And I also joined in on the foot races, and look here, I even got a head start. I still got beat. And I was NOT being sweet and let him win, I am literally that bad.
 And why such happy faces?
Because daddy was on his way home!! Woot! Paul has been in Las Vegas for work since Monday, and we've missed him.
He stayed at the Belagio! Nice!
And while he's away taking in Vegas, I'm at home staying awake, all night. I can never sleep while he's away. I lay there and wonder if the evil, glass cutting, bad man is breaking in, and if he is, what can I do about it. My conclusion? Scream like a freaking maniac.
But all is well, and ends well. Daddy is home where he belongs, and I plan on being asleep by 7:30 tonight.
