Camping with children can be, well, difficult. Melanie has experienced the difficulty herself firsthand, and when the Labor Day weekend was coming and everyone talking about camping she came up with a great idea.....camping at their house!!! I jumped on that idea, fast!!! We'd be able to experience camping, but also have indoor plumbing and access to beds if need be!! It was very kind of Matt and Melanie to open their yard and home to 7 adults and 6 kids (not including the Murphy's)
Melanie had the whole weekend planned out....we had tons of yummy food, swimming at O'Bannon park, games, movies, and then a fish fry on Monday with lots of other friends. Overall, the weekend went great. The kids had a BLAST and played hard all weekend long, we did get rain on Sunday night and that was a bummer, but it stopped by the time the fish fry on Monday.
Thanks Matt and Melanie for being so gracious to allow a bunch of crazy kids and adults to take over your place for 3 days. We had a great time and made lots of great memories :)
Here's a look at our massive tent. This sucker is huge.
Inside...Paul had it set up really nice for us. A fan for when/if we got hot and also a heater for when I got cold.
Cutie pie, Addie.
Corbin, not so happy I was taking his pic.
Little one stopping for a water break....
Swimming at O'Bannon Park.....
Of course, the best....campfire time and SMORE time!!!!!!!!!!
Oh yeah...this is the "three amigos" smoking their peace pipes.
Tracey waiting on the fish fry to begin.
Couple pics of the spread at the Murphy's.
Have to stop for a "self-portrait"
Melanie taking a quick break!!
Manning the fish fry.
Ashlyn.....aka, Pierce's "house playmate"
Janna and Ian :)
And not even 5 minutes down the road.........
Thanks again Matt and Melanie....it was tons of fun!!!!!!!!!!
