10 questions

Let's do this:

1) What is your idea of a perfect day?
This one is so fun to answer!  First of all, I would sleep in, like till 8:00, because I now consider 8 late.  I would be in no rush to get anywhere, so I would sit around in my pajamas drinking coffee and maybe reading blogs, or watching some mindless television. After lots of piddling around, I would work out and then settle in for a day of shopping. I would of course, find lots of adorable outfits, ON SALE, and then celebrate the finds with an excellent dinner. That would be a perfect day for me.

2) What is your favorite song and why?
I just have to divide this into two songs: First,  It Is Well with My Soul, by Horatio Spafford.  Each time I hear that song, my voice cracks and my eyes well up with tears. Then when I heard the story of how he lost his son, all his finances were ruined, and then lost all his daughters before writing this hymn?  YOU GUYS.  Whatever my lot.....it is well with my soul.  Just be sure and play that one at my funeral.  Okay, and on a much more shallow level,  Heartbreak Warfare, by John Mayer.  Just because I'm a stupid girl.

3) Do you think crying is a sign of weakness or strength?
I actually am going to say strength. I think it takes more courage to be real with your emotions, and if you feel like crying then do it, don't try and be brave to save face. With that said, I am a crier, so maybe I just want to think that. WHO KNOWS.

4) What will you never do?
I WILL NEVER BUNGEE JUMP. Nothing else to say about that really, except, I WILL NEVER BUNGEE JUMP.

5) What is the most desirable trait another person can possess?
Is humor a trait? Because funny people are my favorite! But other than humor, I'm really drawn to people who are effective communicators.

6) Are you holding onto something you need to let go of?
Yes. But I'm learning to let go.

7) What is your earliest childhood memory?
I think I remember bits and pieces around 4 and 5, but I'm going to say kindergarten, because I vividly remember parts of K.  Like standing at my teachers desk staring at her just because I thought she was beautiful, OR, the time in show-and-tell when my shirt was unbuttoned. TRAUMATIZING.

8) Do you push the elevator button more than once? Do you really believe it will make the elevator faster?
If for some reason a fellow passenger on said elevator is creeping me out, you better believe it! Trust me, I watch WAY too much Dateline.

9) Where else would you like to live? Why?
Out West, just because of it's beauty.

10) Is there ever a time when giving up makes sense?
Absolutely.

And that concludes my ten questions! This was a fun mix up and I hope some of you will join me!

Let's answer some questions, shall we?

Tracey and I were discussing our blog funks, and decided we should do a blog-off topic, after all it has been a while!

Normally, Jaime was our blog-off ring leader, but she's taking a break (come back, Jaime!) so for now, I'm taking the lead.

Tracey had the idea of just answering some questions, and I remember Katherine doing something similar to this, so I went searching her blog and found the entire list here. I went through the entire list of questions, and just picked a few out. If you want to play along, please do!

1) What is your idea of a perfect day?

2) What is your favorite song and why?

3) Do you think crying is a sign of weakness or strength?

4) What will you never do?

5) What is the most desirable trait another person can possess?

9) Where else would you like to live? Why?

10) Is there ever a time when giving up makes sense?

Answer them all, or just one, doesn't matter to me! I will complete mine by Thursday, and I hope you play along too!

Special memories

So, my parents were here this weekend.

You know, to see the kids all of us.

But for realsie they were here to watch the kids games, and I suppose enjoy our company too.

They haven't had the opportunity to watch either of the kids play this season.

And they made it just in time, seeing as next week is the last game.

Both of the kids were so excited they had their grandparents there to watch them.

Especially Pierce.

He seemed to struggle a little more this game, maybe performance anxiety?

But daddy was there to give some helpful tips

And encouragement.

But he ended the game with an awesome play! (You should have heard my mother and I screaming! RIDICULOUS)

And then Hope?

Adorable as usual.

And thankfully mom and dad got to experience the cuteness first hand.

Other than the games, we spent a majority of our time shopping, but I didn't take nary a single picture of that.

HOWEVER.

I did snap a couple pics when Rico and I got out on a date!

Dinner AND a movie.

We were wild and didn't make it home until like 9:30.

And my parents even kept the kids all night! Heeeeey.

I guess there are some advantages to moving away.

The kids desperately miss all of their grandparents, but they are making very special memories.

We all are...

Bloggers-block?

I think I might have bloggers-block.

Is that a thing?

I mean I am busy with lots going on, but I just don't know that any of it is "blog worthy."

However, we do have a special weekend planned, as my parents will be arriving this afternoon....

Oh, and I see Bon Jovi in three weeks! Holla!

But for now, this is all I have.

Have a great weekend!

#GandTday

It's been approximately 2 years and 4 months since moving to Bowling Green.

In those 2 years and 4 months, (REALLY, WHO IS COUNTING) I have taken many a trip up North to the land that flows with milk and honey.

BUT, I've also got these awesome people in my life that travel to see me, and sometimes it's just for one day! And like any grown mature woman, knocking on 40 years of age, I took to social media to express my excitement.

And lo' and behold when Tracey was standing at my door, there we were faced wearing virtually the same outfit.

REALLY, we did not plan this.

I guess I could have changed, but nah...

So, the visit at hand.

Of course, we wanted to just hang out together, but something else brought T here to BG...

Oh yes, Tracey went to her first Kelly's Kids party.

Before moving to BG, I had never even heard of Kelly's Kids, then shortly after our move I received an invite to one of these little shin-digs.

I decided, HEY I SHOULD GO AND MAKE FRIENDS, but in the end all I ended up making was a big fat dent in my wallet.

BUT, I really wanted Tracey to experience one of these for herself. No doubt that the clothes are cute, and as you can see Hope has already been circling things she wants. Ha! Even Pierce picked out a little studly outfit.

It's safe to say that Tracey did her part for our sad economy, but trust me, Maggie will be tre' adorable!

And you know that even after the KK party we still did more shopping, in fact all the way up until we picked the kids up from school.

There was a lunch date with Britt too, but somehow I missed taking a picture. FAIL!

But we ended our day together, and I made some comfort food for us all.

And just as soon as she arrived, it was time to go.

Why the fun times go so fast is beyond me....

But thankful for such a loyal friend, and great #GandTday

Don't ever let the music stop moving you

Sometimes you can just be hanging out

Minding your own business

When suddenly.....

The music moves you

And you must dance.

Actually, there's no way you couldn't dance

Your body takes over.

And somehow you are just along for the dance ride.

The joy

It's undeniable.

And I only have one request for my dancing babes.

Please don't ever let the music stop moving you.

Sleeping on the couch? A success!

I've really gotten away from my "weekend recaps" as of late, and found myself thinking the other day...hey, I should do that more. Because I know of at least 4 people interested! (Hi parents who birthed us!)

So, why not take stab at this weekend? It was an average, run-of-the-mill kinda weekend.

We are down to the wire with the kids games, with only two left. I'm kinda looking forward to it being over, but I guess we'll just roll into something else.

This time instead of just taking pics of the games, I took some video with the ol' iPhone, and I decided I should try loading the videos through YouTube. I think doing that means you can watch them on your phones. Well, I think anyways. I'm so behind on technology, I had to ask Twitter for help. Oy.

Oh, and forgive my big fat loud mouth.

And if I've done this wrong, please feel free to tell me how to do it.

Okay, but our weekend.

Yes, run-of-the-mill.

AKA= not much going on.

Well, except for a tre' cute birthday party on Saturday afternoon that Hopie and I went to.

But Paul and I did decide to treat the kids to something on Saturday night.

We got some special movie popcorn..

And watched a movie they had never seen.

This means lots of snuggles...

And mommy doing her best to:

A) Pay attention, because sometimes movies lose her

B) Stay awake if said movie does lose her

Check out my photo-editing here!  Do we look hip and artistic, or just dark and weird?

But yes, we snuggled...

And ask me how much I love this? He still not too big to sit on his lap, and well, I adore that.

And I'm still not too big to flop myself down and demand a foot rub.

But the BIG event of the night??

Well, Pierce has been asking begging us for weeks, to let him stay up late and fall asleep on the couch. So, Saturday night was finally the night! After the movie was finished, we let him stay up and play some Xbox and just chill, and he was THRILLED.

With the climax of the night?

The opportunity to fall asleep on the couch, and stay there an ENTIRE night.

And only one thing stood in his way.....

But once that obstacle was removed, it's safe to say....

THE SLEEP ON THE COUCH EVENT, was a success!!
