Snow Days.

Who would think living just 2 hours south, would make such a difference in how snow is handled?? I know that Indiana is a little hyper-sensitive to snow, but holy cow, they can't handle it at all here in Keeen-tucky. So far this week, school has been called off for 3 days. Oh, and let me tell you, Paul is from Michigan. Michigan=snow. Boy do I ever hear all.the.time about how wimpy these people (Hoosiers included) are ;-)

I've enjoyed having them both home, but Christmas vacation starts next week, so I need to start with my creative mommy stuff, and I think we've established I'm not the most creative momma. Here's just some of what we've managed so far....

Of course we've played in the snow.
Oh what fun we have....

The laughter and giggles.....Until someone gets snow in the face. ;-)

There's been fit throwing.Oh and even Christmas gift opening!!! Courtesy of Memaw and Pawpaw. This made for fun hours of playtime!!!
So excited!!! I mean, it's princess stuff, who wouldn't be excited?!?!?
Pierce has had a ton of fun with his magnet set!!
Just a glimpse of what's to come in a mere 9 days.

This is when they opened their book....
One of those where you record reading it. We listen to this MANY times a day. Then we've gussied up for baking time!!! They are demonstrating how they both can snap now. Funny, what excites little people. I wish I still got excited to snap.
Let me share something about me. I am a little OCD. It's hard to be OCD about things when you have kids. So, I swallowed my OCD'ness and let them decorate them all themselves. Sprinkles were all over the table, and the floor. Icing on the jars, themselves and me. I was hyper-ventilating a little, but I made it through. I'm trying to let the kids be kids, and not get in the way of that. ;)
And we've done crafts!!! There's been more than just this, but this is all I got pictures of.

Cute hugh?!?
I'm thinking of hitting the craft store and stocking up with a bunch more stuff. And letting the kids go crazy, you know with glitter and little tiny beads!!! I may not survive and have a major stoke from anxiety, but I'll go down trying!!!

I liked when you said funny what excites little kids.....I was sitting next to the stairs/escalators at church one day with one of my coworkers....every kid there wanted to climb up those steps. I leaned over and told my friend....I wish I got that excited about climbing the stairs.....now its like "ohh crap, I have to take the stairs!"

If you think Kentucky is bad with the snow/ice, you should see Georgia....talk about wimps!!!

I think you are doing good at being crafty.
I too have OCD, which is slowly starting to creep into my son. I would have a hard time letting him just go at it with decorating cookies.

You rock, momma! You got such great pics! The OCD in me was dying over the cookie, too! Way to go with the flow. I'm def going to have issues with that in the future. :)

Great pictures! Looks like the kids are having a blast. I too have a hard with sprinkles on cookies and decorating stuff. Maybe it gets better with time. We missed 3 days this week :( There goes our 'built in' snow days. Hope to see you soon!
