"Trick or Treat, smell my feet, gimmie something good to eat"

Halloween 2011 has come and gone, and we have enough candy to last us until Easter!! :)

Can't believe we are in November already! Now things get really crazy until January. Yikes.

Back to Halloween though. Our fun started with a fall party at Pierce's school. I was one of the moms who volunteered to help out, and I was given the food job. Sugar high, anyone?
I also had a very special helper with me. :)
I can't believe that next Halloween I will have them both at school here. Wow.
Onto Halloween night. Brittany was sweet, and invited us to trick or treat in their neighborhood with them. Yea!!

Drum roll.......

A cowgirl and Snake Eyes!! And for those who don't know who Snake Eyes is (such as myself) he's a G.I. dude.
We got to spend some time with some other very cute characters. Mickey Mouse, who at 1 years old thought he could pull the gang all around ;) A firefighter, and Buzz Lightyear!!
Where Blake and Brittany live they have an area called "Pumpkin Alley"
And let me tell you, it was neat! It reminded me of the scene in E.T. where all the kids were trick or treating. I heard today that they estimated about 900 people there! It didn't feel like chaos though, it was more like a nice festival.
The streets were lined with carved pumpkins and bags, and all the houses were decorated. People sat outside and handed out their candy. Last year, we didn't know anyone and had to trick or treat at the mall, it sure beat out that ghetto scene.
And many of the adults were dressed up too. I had to take a picture of this one for all my Colts peeps. Check him out! Peyton Manning with a neck injury. Ha ha ha.
My kids got to run up to many homes....
And even get candy from some interesting characters.
After a couple hours of Halloween fun, our kids were getting cold and tired.
And some took advantage of the ride to sit back and relax. ;)
It really was a great night! We ended up at Nat and Cindy's house for taco soup and the kids had a chance to play some more. I am very appreciative of being invited and included along. :)

Lastly, today at Hope's school they had a 'parade' for the kids to come and walk and show off their costumes. All of the parents were lined up like paparazzi, flashing pic after pic, and you would know that my daughter LOVED that. ;)
She kept posing for me, one angle after the other.
Eventually though, the attitude did show. Hey, it's not easy being chased after by the paparazzi, everyone has their breaking point. ;)
Now the countdown to Thanksgiving is on!! Gobble, Gobble!!!

Working for the man. Hospital trip. Fires. And a wreck.

Our weekend started off rather boring and mundane, but it's ended with a bang, or should I say a crash? Seriously the last 12 hours have been crazy. Let me start with Friday though.

Paul called me, and asked if I would come work for him. Of course, my question is  "how much will I make an  hour?" He didn't offer much, but I was feeling loving and generous, so I went ahead and became his employee for the day. :)

Lookie here at what he had me doing. Highlighting hundreds of pages. Can anyone spell boring??
So, while my boss was walking around, being all bossy and boss like....
I took the opportunity to some might say, um, goof off. Belting out some tunes from the radio.....
And taking MANY spins in his spinny chair. Weeeeeeeee.
Then I heard Mr. Bossy pants coming back, so back to work. :)
Oh, and I'm not sure, but I think I may have been sexually harassed.
I don't think I'll be returning to work for him anytime soon. ;)

Onto Saturday. Our big plans for Saturday were to get our family pictures taken. Man, is it just me, or is family picture day stressful? Obsessing about how everyone looks, how the hair is, making sure everyone is in a good mood. Hopefully, the end result is worth it! :)

After pictures we went home, and I started to cook dinner (I know, more excitement than anyone can handle) and Pierce started to complain that his stomach hurt. Honestly, he complains a lot of belly pain. However, he never has a fever, or stops eating or playing, so I dismiss it many times. Last night though, he was acting different with his pain, he really didn't want to eat, and just kept laying around. More stomach virus junk has been going around, so I thought maybe he was going to get the pukes again. I think by around 8:00 or so, he was bent over double and yelling in pain. Needless to say, I got freaked out. As I was about to have a little meltdown, Paul said he needs to go to the E.R.

Pierce was beyond upset, mostly I think out of fear.
Once he realized they weren't going to "take my skin off, and do surgery" he relaxed and started to enjoy the attention. ;)
They drew blood, ( he was super brave and didn't cry at all) did x-rays, and checked his urine. And the culprit of all this belly pain? Constipation. His x-rays showed that he has lots of poop backed up in his large intestine. Lovely hugh? I feel really guilty about this. Like maybe I don't feed him well enough and I should have not ignored the recent complaints of stomach pain. Ugh.
I'm really thankful it wasn't something more serious though. Now we are starting the milk of magnesia (gag) and tons of water, and waiting for the big explosion. ;)

While we were still  at the hospital Paul called me, and said that there was a large structure fire, and as soon as we got home he needed to head out. We got home around 9:00, and Paul ran out to go help. Around 2 a.m. my phone rang, and there was ANOTHER structure fire! He didn't get home until almost 6 this morning!! Can anyone say exhausted?

Aren't you all enjoying my novel?

I have to tell you all one more thing though.

When I got up this morning with the kids, I knew I had to go pick up some medicine for Pierce. Paul was here asleep, and I was just going to run to Walgreens, like one block from us. Told the kids I would be right back, and don't wake up daddy unless you HAVE to.

I picked up the medicine and was on my way back sitting at a stop light. I look up at this large SUV seems to be backing up? Yes, in fact the SUV was backing up, and he was not going to stop. Well, not until he BACKED RIGHT INTO ME that is. I just sat there in shock. Did I really just get hit? Oh yes I did. So, I did what any grown woman with two children would do. I called my dad.  (I know, sad a 36 year old still calls here daddy, don't judge he's an insurance agent) then I called 911 and waited for the po po to show up. Police did all his police man stuff and I finally headed back home. I got home an hour later, and thought maybe I would walk back into Armageddon. Seriously, the kids didn't even notice I was gone a long time.

Oh, and did I mention that all of this happened while I was in my pajamas? Oh yeah. And bed head, no makeup, and morning breath. Good times people. Good times.

Kids Camera.

I decided when I got my new camera, that I would give the kids our old one. I just downloaded all the pics today, and thought I'd blog some of them. MOSTLY because I'm trying out the newer blogger interface, and just trying to figure out how to use it. Anyone that knows me, knows how inept I am at such computer things. So, if this post comes out looking all jacked up, you understand why. :)

I seem to be their favorite subject....

Paul was also subject to the paparazzi.

Mainly though, the pictures are very random things. Kinda cute to see what they see :)

Festivities out the wazoo!!

Is it the Queen of England that celebrates her birthday for a week? Or maybe it's just one of those Kardashians? Well, we can add my children to that list too. Seems whenever we celebrate Pierce or Hope, it goes on and on!! Enjoy it while it lasts kids!!

How fun is it to get special mail? I love it when I get an unexpected package!! Pierce was super pumped on Thursday when he got a package from Meemaw and Grandpa.
Just check on the expressions in the next few pics....

He was VERY happy to get some more Star Wars dudes for his collection, some motorcycle guys, and a light for his head! Thanks Meemaw and Grandpa!!!
Thursday I was in preparation for the King and Queen's arrival, i.e., my parents. The Lysol must have gone to my brain, because I decided I would make a cake. From scratch. I found a recipe on the dern pinterest, and feeling all domestic I went for it. The recipe was for chocolate coke-cola cake. Yum!
I took my cue from Alicia, and knew I had to photograph myself baking. I'm so used to cheesing, I forgot I needed to look overworked and distraught. (I also must have been so caught up in my domestic goodness that I neglected to shut the freezer door)
This is better.
Tip from me when baking a cake. Don't spill part of it on the floor.

Another tip. Do lick LOTS of the batter. Here it is!! My cake from scratch. Guess what? It was a flop. I GIVE UP.
I still served it to the birthday boy, and then he told me "I don't like this mom." So, instead he ate more sugar cookies from the store.
With my parents actually here on Pierce's birthday we decided to head to the Nashville Zoo. We made a pit stop on the way down to one of Pierce's favorite places!!
It was a PERFECT day for the zoo. I don't ever remember being at the zoo when it wasn't 846 degrees, so this was a very nice change.
Pierce offered to take one of us, I had no idea Hope was bombing the pic. Silly girl!
We spent so much time playing on the playground, that we hardly had time to see the animals!

Cuteness!
Hope is all about goofing off for picture time lately. ;) Sooooo, I have to point out this chick standing right behind us, see the leopard shirt woman? I'm just going to go with my gut that she is not one of my 10 readers. Anyways, see how she's holding her phone up at her face? She had it on some type of mirror, and she stared at herself the.entire.time. It was quite amusing for me. :)
Had to include a picture of my dad holding Pierce. I'm not sure how much longer we will be able to pick up our big boy! :(
My parents had never been with us to the zoo, and it was a really great day.
We also took my parents to see Paul's fire department. Not that he owns it, but you know what I mean. :)
Has anyone wondered where Paul has been? Or are you thinking what an awful wife I am to not include him in any of the pictures?

Believe it or not, there are some things I wont blog about, I actually do have limits. But I was given complete 100% permission to document this.
On Friday, Paul had 9 teeth pulled. I am not even kidding you guys! He had 9!!!! teeth pulled. Guess what happens when you spend many of years of your life seriously ill, and on crazy drugs? Your teeth go bad, and you have no choice but to get them pulled. Now, you know we've worn out the Kentucky jokes about this, but it really stinks! He WILL be getting them replaced (shew ;)) and he has done remarkably well considering, just really swollen. I guess when you've been to hell with your health, a little teeth pulling aint nothin'. :)
