Winter '14, you can leave now

As of today, we are on snow day 14.

FOUR-TEEN

To say that we are slightly overwhelmed at this number is an understatement, but per the usual, we generally attempt to make the most of the situation.

Now yesterday around 4:00 when I was asked the 5,246 question, I was pretty much not making the most of it. I may have had a bad mom moment. Or twenty.

But Wednesday?

Wednesday we embraced the snow....

The kids and I decided it was worth the risk to get out, and off we went to see our friends.

And it's a good thing that Brittany told me "bring snow clothes, just in case."

I honestly didn't think we'd be outside that day, but I was mistaken. And I'm glad I was.

I know it's kind of an oxymoron to complain about the summer days slipping away, while also complaining about being stuck at home with your kids.

But being at home with your kids, ALL DAY INDOORS, is much different.

So this was perfect.

It was warm enough for us moms to be able to handle it, and of course perfect enough for the kids to have a blast.

Especially mine, because this hill was bigger than what we had been sledding on.

And while they were perfectly content here

There was something even better in store.

We were rebels and took them somewhere with a HUGE hill.

And Brittany and I both knew we were gonna have to tackle this too.

We both looked at each other and said, "I wanna do this."

Totally fun.

These two boys had a BLAST.

Just big enough to not be scared at all, and up and down they went, over and over again.

I hope they have vivid memories of this week.

Winter of '14...

Some awesome fun times!

Yes little ones, remember how fun this was when you are still in school come July.

Oh, and just because Brittany took a couple pictures of me and made me feel pretty, even if I was in Blake's camo jacket.

Thanks Brittany!

And winter of '14, you can leave now.

That last picture is beautiful! And only you would look that good after a day of sledding in the snow.

I just thought I would come back and point out that my Disney Day 5 post garnered three comments. THREE. And it took me about five hours to put together if you count going through photos and writing. So clearly YOU are the blog superstar here, with eight comments!
