Some toys never go out of style.

Some things just scream life in the 80's to me...

Trapper Keepers.

Banana Clips.

Neon.

A single sparkle glove.

And the Slip' n Slide.

Honestly, I have no idea when the slip n' slide was invented, but I remember them being a big thing when I was a kid. We never personally had one, but many of my friends did. I remember going to lots of parties when the slip n' slide would come out, and many times at camp. Good times.

And the other night at Brittany's house, she whipped out a good ol' Slip n' Slide for the next generation.

My kids have never tried one of these out before.

It took a little bit of practice, but they figured it out pretty quickly.

Layton was funny, his little body would just ZIP down it.

Hope did more of a PLOP at first.

But eventually, even she was whizzing on down the yellow plastic.

Luke on the other hand was more content just playing in the water.

But even the little one figured out how much fun it was.

So fun to watch the kids do it over and over.

And fun to feel a little twinge of nostalgia.
Unlike the banana clip, some things never go out of style.

We had a slip & slide that never really worked right. The water didn't shoot up & down onto it...so we ghettoized it...we laid the water hose on the top of it & let the water flow down. Classy, I know...

Did you get a fancy schmancy camera? Some of those shots are fabulous!
