I posted this picture yesterday on Instagram as a little ode to 'Throwback Thursday' and well, you know that it in turn made me sad.
Moms in general are sappy souls, aren't we?
Those sweet babies were about 3 1/2 and 1, and in just a week they will be starting 1st and 3rd grade. That saying "the days are long, but the years are short" sure rings true now.
And once again I'm stuck here at the end of another summer break scratching my head wondering where it went. I started back to work yesterday (even though I really don't get full in until Monday) so my mind has left the summer mentality behind.
It was a very busy summer and very good.
Hope seemed to change a ton these last two months. She started off losing one of her top teeth...
And now she's all toothless and gummy! Those big girl teeth are going to come in and really change the way she looks.
She also learned to ride her bike, and took to swimming like a serious fish.
Pierce's changes weren't as drastic this break, but he still had a summer of change.
Maybe more of a slight coming of age summer?
More freedom to do big guy things (at least when his dad his around and not his ninny mom) and spread his wings.
And even this guy had a big summer of change.
I've never talked about this on my blog, but Paul left his job in May, and he just started a new career two weeks ago.
So yeah, change has been big this summer, and generally I hate change.
But I've tried to embrace it and just enjoy the ride. Plus I think I've learned over the years that worrying about all the change does nothing but stress me. God is in control and I just have to trust Him.
Change and all, it was a great summer! I'm so glad that I was able to experience it all with my family, but now I'm ready to take on the school year.
Thanks for the memories summer.

I'm starting to realize that lots of good things come with change, too! :) Just have to focus on the blessings!
I love all the summer recap photo's. They are just beautiful! Prayers that everything goes great for Rico's new job. (Stuff like that seriously stresses me out...). We are slowly but surely getting ready for all our changes too. A 5th grader and a Kindergarten Kiddo. Yikes! Hold me... :)
Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

They are growing up since I started reading your blog!! Good Luck with the changes!!
That first picture, I die! Seriously!
Change is good...but sometimes doesn't seem like it at the time. :) Good luck to all of you with these new chapters in your lives!
I was just thinking today, where did summer go! It's not that we haven't been active, it's just that it went by way too fast. I'm not ready for the school year but ready or not it's coming.
I wish I could learn to embrace change. It scares me and I worry constantly.
Worry will also turn your hair GRAY. Just keep thinking about THAT...
:)
Great post!!!
