Update complete

When I haven't blogged in a few days I can usually count on a text from my mom. Of course she wants to check in, but I think even more she wonders how those grandbabies of hers are.

We still have little glimpses of summer going on...

But summer is beginning to seem far away, especially when you are back in the mode of homework.

I was pleasantly surprised to learn that Pierce will be taught cursive this year, I was under the impression that was over in schools.

When I see this stuff I have flashbacks of my cursive days.

But unlike my school days, fourth graders now bring home paperwork about bringing devices to school for instructional use. Cue a speech from mom, "This isn't like WHEN I WAS IN SCHOOL! And no fourth grader of mine will have such things!" Blah. Blah. Blah.

Who cares, right? Keep up with the times.

And that's just it, times are changing for my fourth grader. He's changing. He completes most of his homework before he even gets home, he doesn't ask me for my help, (this all started happening at the end of last year) and when we discuss his school stuff he just seems old.

Part of me hates it (the neurotic mom who wants to still rock her baby) and part of me loves it (the neurotic mom who wants her children to grow up and be independent) Either way, I'm still just a neurotic mom. Which duh, that will never change.

Okay, update complete, grandparents rejoice!

Well except that I must mention the new pajama's the boss got everyone. I love them! COMFY PANTS? She speaks my love language.

It's bittersweet when they don't need us like they used to. Just wait till he's almost 16. That's pretty much what I'm dealing with now.

Awesome they are still teaching cursive. Our schools took it out. I'm sad my Ax and Lee will only know how to print unless I teach them myself.

Cute pajamas :)
