With the Fourth of July falling in the middle of the week this year, some friends of ours decided to throw a little party this weekend. And by little, I mean hundreds of dollars in fireworks. But with this crazy heat, and dry as a bone conditions, there has been a fireworks ban in these parts, and I'm guessing most everywhere really. HOWEVER, when you are friends with the fire chief, he can get the paperwork necessary to still let off heavy explosives.
Said paperwork.
And this wasn't all of it. Crazy! And let me make a reference here to something Paul said, while James was loading and setting up. "I bet once these start going off, the police show up within 30 minutes." NOTED.
And there was even a truck on standby, just in case. Seems a little drastic to me for fireworks, but each to their own.
Kids were in heaven, because this place is set up for children!
And then the show started...
VERY impressive.
45 minutes into the show, the po po showed up indeed. And once the po po show up, your show gets shut down. I was begging Paul to go take a photo, but he refused and acted like I was an idiot. Psht! He doesn't understand how serious I take my blogging. So, I ran off to the bushes and this is the best I could get. ALL FOR MY BLOG!
That paperwork saved James a fine, but the show was indeed SHUT DOWN. I felt bad for James, but he took it well. He just said once we get some much needed rain, we are all invited back for an epic party with many fireworks.
NOTED. And we will be there.

They was to funny about the picture of the cops car!! I was cracking up explaining to my husband what was funny!!
That is awesome, the truck on standby and the cops. Looks like you have something to look forward to this summer.

OMGosh, I read your title on my blog and had to click over. Your police car pic made me think of a paparazzi pic from a trashy gossip magazine. LOVE IT! :)
Too bad that your show got shut down! Looks like you all were on the way to an awesome firework display. It's been dry as a bone here too but they have yet to put a firework ban in place. I'm waiting for it though!

(We used to have a 4th of July party & when it was kinda, sorta dry-B-rad would bring over a tank of water...just in case. So it made since to me they'd have a fire truck there.)
