While home this past weekend, on our list of things to do, there was one event that was a MUST.
Go back to the place that my many of my teenage years centered around.
The Harvest Homecoming.
The Harvest Homecoming is a 'little' festival held in New Albany, Indiana, every October.
I guess I refer to it as little, because in my minds eye, NewAlbany isn't big. But in actuality The Harvest Homecoming, draws in thousands of people.
And when I was a teenager, it was a cool thing that your whole year centered around. Go to THH, so we can all hang in the "middle" and be cool.
NOW, we go for different reasons.
Or maybe running into old friends...
But honestly the REAL reason we go now?
It's not to hang in the middle anymore.
It's not to see who we know.
And it's certainly not to be cool anymore.
It's to experience gluttony on an epic level.
The food at the HHC, is where it's at.
In my teens years, if I would have known it would eventually come to this, I would have died.
But one, simply cannot help themselves.
And when you begin to feel the inevitable pains of gluttony begin to set in....
You forge ahead,
Because there is more to be tasted, and if need be you can always unbutton your pants.
