With my impending JBJ engagement, I've been thinking lots about that horribly-glorious era, known as the 1980's. So I thought, why not take a little stroll down the 80's lane, for some Flashback Friday!
The 80's for myself, was what I would call a half-n-half era.
Half of it, playing with my Cabbage Patch dolls
And rockin' a Trapper Keeper.
And the other half of it, with me wanting to grow up and look something like this fine lady.
I took those first pubescent steps to growing up, by asserting my fashion sense with choices that I thought were bold.
Like color blocked earrings.
Swatch watches.
And Hot Sticks.
And my most fashion-forward statement had to be my high-top Reebok. They looked EXACTLY like these. Seriously.
In my mind, I dressed something like this..
But in reality, it was more like this.
And all the while, trying to achieve Whitney Houston's makeup.
And always the background music behind it all was none other....
On my wicked awesome boombox.
Because as the pictures tells, I am a product of the 80's.

Ahhhh, 12 cans of hairspray a week, gummed up walls and ceiling, brittle carpet and when they burned the home your upstairs room (she had two rooms, bless her little heart) was so flammable I didn't think the guys were going to get out alive.
I also had the trapper keeper! OMG how funny! Your hair...no words... DEFINITELY 80's. no doubt.
There is no doubt in my mind that if I had a Trapper Keeper now, my life would be much more organized.
Oh how I miss Swatch watches...
Oh my word.. All your hair doesn't even fit in th picture! Dying!!
That lady's eye makeup was *almost* as fine as her hair! HILARIOUS! Did ya'll wear those horrible plastic necklaces that you could clip those horrible plastic charms to it??
Hope you have a great weekend!

Funny thing...those Reeboks are still alive and well in the cheer world! All of my allstar squads have worn them over the years! I LOVE telling them how old school they are! If Grace keeps cheering, maybe a pair will make its way back to your home, too! :)
Love that hair! I never could make my hair be that high, see even in the 80's you were blessed with good hair.
I wore those high top Reeboks in high school when I cheered! Those things were amazzzzing! lol
My Cabbage Patch Dolls are in Amelia's room now. Like, my original ones from 1981 and 1983. And I really feel for the poor school photographer ... I can imagine him backing up, backing up, moving his tripod and backing up some more ... and he just couldn't get far enough back to fit all of your hair in the shot. Ha!
