Behold The Lamb of God

Sometimes you get introduced to things that you never knew even existed. (Dark chocolate and sea salted caramel.)

Sometimes those introductions are bad (meggings),  and sometimes they are good (eyebrow threading.)

And then, sometimes you are introduced to something so wonderful, you MUST share it with the class.

Behold The LAMB of God

Am I the only one who didn't know what this was? Surely not.

Well, my friends Brittany and Amanda, both were sweet and invited me along to go check it out. I had no clue what it was, but I'm game for most anything, so I was in!

They raved about it, but could never really explain it to me, except something about, "the gospel set to music."  With that, I envisioned, a Christmas play, with Mary and Joseph on a donkey, maybe a camel, and some wise men thrown in. You know, a typical Christmas pageant.

So, that was my mindset going in.

Oh, and another apparent big deal? It was held at the historic Ryman auditorium. NOW, I gots to be honest here, I had no clue what that meant, seeing as I don't do country music, but I could appreciate the history of it all.

The Ryman auditorium, opened in 1892, and is the original home of the Grand Ole Opry.

The venue?  Indeed very awesome.

We got to our seats, and I waited.

I waited for a floating angel to come tell Mary she was going to be pregnant.....

But Mary never did show up.

Instead a man named Andrew Peterson did. And very quickly, I knew I was going to love this night.

Musician after musician

TALENTED people, left and right.

And in that setting, with those good seats? You guys, I was ready to perform.

But then check this!

I had no idea that Steven Curtis Chapman would be there too! How exciting!

He talked quite a bit about the loss of his 5 year old daughter, Maria Sue, and then he performed the song he wrote after her death. So amazing.

Then they finally performed the actual "walk through the gospel" set to music, and it was beautiful!

The evening ended with an auditorium full of people singing, It Is Well with my Soul, a capella. And honestly, that alone would be reason enough to go. It was breathtaking.

So, if you ever have the opportunity to see it? DO IT.

But there is one thing, I still have not mentioned...

I was in downtown Nashville, during my favorite time of year

With a group of fantastic women.

Seriously. Awesome. Night.
